Daniel J. Birdsall was born Jan 31, 1764 and married Anna Haight Thorne, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Thorne. Her ancestors bought land from William Leptondale, 1791 in Orange County. The Thornes in New Paltz, Ulster Col, in 1810. Daniel J. died Feb 11, 1830 in Leptondale, Orange County.
